Too many clients and contractors have unpleasant experiences when executing projects. Communication problems, sub par work quality, missed deadlines, cost overruns, unforeseen surprises, and the list goes on and on.

JM Builders credits our success to a proven set of systems that remove the uncertainty and produce predicably reliable professional results on every project. For over a decade, we have seen, recognized, and adapted our process, to remove the complications and problems that plague the industry. We have studied successful projects to determine why they went well, and examined the nightmare jobs to discover what decisions cause and contribute to problems and undesirable outcomes.

Our conclusion, based on the data, is that successful projects have 3 things in common that problem projects almost always lack:

• A detailed plan outlining specifically when and how to go from concept to execution to completion.

Sounds simple enough right? Well, believe it or not, it is very rare to see all three of these sufficiently in place before beginning work. There are a lot of other contributing factors to success, (communication, follow through and flexibility to name some) but we have found that if a client and their contractor focus on ensuring these big 3 starting points are in place, the rest tends to follow suit. Contractors (and homeowners) with poor communication and unreliable follow through rarely put in the work needed to plan out the project before hand.
